First of all, books are magic.

Secondly, I am proud to be appearing with two esteemed Canadian writers, Claire Cameron and Katrina Onstad, at an evening moderated by Jonny Diamond and dedicated to discuss Canadian literature, at the brand-new bookstore that is the new destination for book-smart Brooklynites.

You may ask: What am I, a New York resident, who's written a book that takes place in the panhandle plains of Texas, doing at a Canada Writers Night? To which I can only say: Shhhhh. Don't tell. Because I really want to appear at this. 

Also, I am Canadian. Sort of. All will be revealed on this night! Which is about the 37th best reason to come out.
