On Thursday, September 14 at 7:30 PM, I'll be discussing murders, fictional and otherwise, with my fellow author and New York magazine colleague Carolyn Murnick.

Her excellent memoir The Hot One examines the story of her childhood best friend, Ashley Ellerin, who was murdered as an adult in L.A. under mysterious and sensation circumstances. The Hot One is an intelligent, moving, and deeply personal chronicle of having a distinct and unique connection to a sensational crime.

The conversation will be moderated by New York magazine's Boris Kachka, who's also the author of Hothouse.
